Bärenwinkel
History
The alley was located behind the shooting range for riflemen, established by the council in 1543. Since the targets were mounted on poles at that time, the entire range was also called "Schießstange" (shooting pole). The two older names are only occasionally found. The name "Bärenwinkel" referred only to what later became house numbers 2–7. The current name includes the Middle Polish noun "kur," which referred to both a rooster and the target in archery. Previously, roosters were also used as targets.
