Schottischer Gang

History

Gdańsk, Poland, has historical ties to Scotland, reflected in the names of two suburbs, Nowe Szkoty (New Scotland) and Stary Szkoty (Old Scotland). From the 14th century, trade links and migration led many Scots to settle in Gdańsk, contributing to its economy and culture. Scottish traders, soldiers, and craftsmen played key roles, and their legacy remains in local culture and landmarks. The Scots were integral in shaping both the economy and character of the region.

Schottischer Gang, or Scottish Way, reflects this heritage.
