Große Bäckergasse
History
This street formed in the 18th century in a part of town called Eimermacherhof (bucket maker court), and was first called Große Bäckergasse (literally, large baker street) between 1800 and 1817. After the war, this street still existed as Piekary, named after a medieval Polish word for bakers. After the ruins from the second World War were cleared, this street disappeared.
Also see Plappergasse, the later name of this street.
